A Better Butter

Although not considered Paleo, we Lobsinger's tend to indulge in butter quite frequently.  Butter is essentially pure animal fat with only minor traces of dairy proteins and sugar remaining.  But isn't saturated fat bad?  Read HERE and HERE for my take on fat.  Long story short, I believe that grass-fed or "Pasture" (not to be confused with pasteurized) butter can be a tasty & healthy part of our diets.  In fact, cooking lean cuts of grain-fed beef in pasture butter is a good compromise if buying grass-fed beef is out of the question.  Mark Sisson has a great article on butter HERE.

The only place I have found pasture butter in Carson is at Raley's.  Trader Joes and SaveMart do not carry it to my knowledge.  It doesn't cost much more than crap butter, and it tastes super-yummy.  So, if you are rockin' butter regularly, do yourself a favor and get the healthy stuff.
