Charley came in Saturday and checked On-Ramp #3 off of her to-do list. On-Ramp #3 focuses on squatting (front, back, overhead) underneath a load. Charley did a great job considering she has never lifted a barbell before. Here's a pic of one of her front squats:
- Good/solid stance............good foundation
- Knees are tracking nicely
- Back angle is fairly good
Can anyone give Charley some constructive criticism on what she can do to achieve better form? I'll make it worth your time. Every right answer gets 10 burpees taken off of today's WOD!
Working on wrist flexibility will allow her to get the bar into a better rack position. With the shoulders and deltoids supporting the weight instead of the smaller arms muscles the work will be handled by the legs. That will also get the weight back closer to the line of her spine as apposed to out in front of her like it is now. I can't draw the little stick figure guy with a straight line here.
ReplyDeleteYea, I was gonna say the same thing about the wrists not being far back enough. It looks like she needs to be back further so the weights are over her ankles.
