It was a big weekend for the local CrossFit community. Saturday was the annual "Fittest of the Sierras" competition at South Lake Tahoe. Sarah, Logan and I met up with our friends/workout buds from CrossFit Carson Valley for a great day in the sun. The temperature was rad. The people were rad. The energy was rad. It was an all-around rad day. For those of you that missed yet another "Fittest"...........you are truly missing out on a great event in our CrossFit/Fitness community.

I was most proud of my wife Sarah. She competed in the scaled division (by herself as we could not get any other women to join her) and did a fantastic job. She started CrossFit less than 6-months ago after our daughter was born. If I went through that child birth crap 6-months ago......you can bet your ass I wouldn't be competing in this thing! She would do her workout.......go over and nurse Logan, eat, rest and repeat. She even beat my rounds on the last workout! Way to go wifey. You definitely made me proud!

More props are in order for Ron (owner of CrossFit Carson Valley) for his efforts at the competition. He hit his previous PR on clean & jerk (even with surgery set for a bum shoulder in 3-weeks) and also gave a tremendous effort on the last WOD (I don't think I've ever seen you that spent after a workout Ron!!!).

I want to thank Toby, Amanda and Lester for coming up and supporting us also. It really is great to have support at this thing. It's nice to have people rooting for you and encouraging you throughout this grueling day.

Last, a big thanks to Ron and Penny for treating us to a very nice post-competition dinner. It was the perfect ending to a great day. Thanks so much!

Here's the results of Saturday mornings "blister maker."

  1. And some other R.A.D. dude took 5th with another bumm shoulder. Amazing how 20 lbs is the difference between 5th and 2nd.

    Those were some fit peeps!
